Heus aquí poesies clares, de llenguatge directe, sense subterfugis, però això no vol dir que siguin poesies superficials i vàcues, ans tot el contrari, de forma senzilla i directe destrien, assenyalen i denuncien. Difícil no trobar-s'hi interpel·lat o, fins i tot identificat, experiència compartida. Allò més personal, sol ser, també, allò més universal.

Suggestions for readings in the shade: Lovely and Xampú xampany. Two Mallorcan poets, Antònia Vicens and Antonina Canyelles. No veiled poetry, no indecipherable symbols, no unknown words, no hidden cryptography, but "acmeism" and not in the Mandelstam way.

These are clear poems, with direct language, without subterfuge, but that does not mean that they are superficial and empty poems, but quite the opposite, in a simple and direct way they discern, point out and denounce. It is difficult not to find yourself challenged or even identified with a shared experience. The most personal it usually turns to be the most universal.

It is a pity that Antònia Vicens has not been translated into English, but you can venture to practice your Spanish or German. Unfortunately, the translations into English or Spanish of Antonina Canyelles' poems have not been published as books. Always a very good excuse to practice Catalan or start studying it.

We are not so unique nor do we know ourselves so well. This year my Christmas greetings requires more effort and patience than the previous ones; to lighten it up I have added some curiosity or fun. Aquí un parell de llibres molt interessants.

En Damià Bardera presenta una radiografia de l'ensenyament públic a Catalunya, que no crec que disti gaire del que es dona a la resta de l'Estat, tot i que ell, diverses vegades en marca algunes diferències. Un present educatiu demolidor, decebedor, que per la meva experiència personal com a docent contractat pel Ministeri espanyol d'educació, sembla que no diferiria massa d'allò que es pretén fer des d'Europa, "si una cosa no pot ser explicada de manera senzilla i divertida, cal plantejar-se eliminar-la del temari".

En Josep Maria Esquirol, ens proposa com hauria de ser l'Educació en majúscules, quines haurien de ser les bases i objectius d'un veritable educador. D'utopies, també se'n viu.

Here are a couple of very interesting books.

Damià Bardera presents an x-ray of the public education in Catalonia, which I don't think differs much from that in the rest of Spain, although, several times, he marks some differences. A demolishing and disappointing educational reality, which from my personal experience as a teacher hired by the Spanish Ministry of Education, does not seem to differ that much from the European Comunity intentions, "if something cannot be explained from simple and fun way, you should consider removing it from the syllabus".

Josep Maria Esquirol proposes what should be Education in capital letters, what should be the bases and objectives of a true educator. Let's hope of Utopias. Although this book has not been translated into English, there is a Spanish translation. For those who do not know Spanish, it is worth reading the English translation of another of his books "The Intimate Resistance. A Philosophy of Proximity".

D'especial interès i al marge de la biografia, és la nota final sobre el Brexit.

A la Felicitació Solsticial / Nadala d'enguany vull homenatjar les coses bones/curioses que ens ha dut l'any que se'n va. "La Création des identités nationales . Europe, XVIIIe-XXe siècle""- llibre molt interessant de l'Anne-Marie Thiesse que situa amb gran claredat com s'ha anat gestant el sentiment d'identitat nacional a Europa en els darrers tres segles. N'existeixen traduccions al castellà i a l'italià.

"The creation of national identities. Europe, XVIII-XX centúries" - a very interesting book by Anne-Marie Thiesse that setos out very clearly how the feeling of national identity in Europe has developed over the last three centuries. Unfortunately I couldn't find any English translation, for those not fluent in French, there is a Spanish (La creación de las identidades nacionales) and an Italian (La creazione delle identità nazionali in Europa) translation.

Posada al dia sobre la nostra realitat, sembla clar que els maquillatges ja no serveixen, quatre llibres que il·lustren les ombres que han fet que siguem on siguem, és a dir, al punt de partida. D'estil variat, el llibre de la Rebeca Quintans aporta grans dades sobre el rei emèrit i de la seva "pobresa", el de de la Pilar Urbano, abastament documentat, gosa dir, alt i clar, el què corria en boca petita. L'armadura del rei, ve a ser un resum actualitzat dels dos anteriors. Per acabar el d'en Luis Gonzalo, que posa llum i taquígrafs a un altre realitat de l'estat connectada estretament amb el passat, pare del nostre present. Desmoralitzadors, però necessaris.

Four illuminating books on the Democratic facts of Spain, unfortunately, as far as I know there is no English translation, so a good chance to practice your Spanish. Well documented, these books dissect the reality of the Spanish state exposing, what Spain calls a "well stablished democracy". A demoralizing but a must reading books.

Diuen que la música és la més abstracte de les arts i que té una especial capacitat d'arribar-nos d'una manera més directe podent-nos transportar a altres llocs i moments. A la música hi afegiria el so en general. 

Enguany vull compartir amb vosaltres músiques i sons que són capaços de transportar-me, és més, us invito a encertar quina de les següents propostes va desencadenar en mi una experiència de felicitat pura que mai no havia experimentat abans i que sols he experimentat una altre vegada a la meva vida i aquesta va ser desencadenada per un llibre miniatura. No vulgueu trobar cap simbologia en l'enumeració dels sons doncs ha estat realitzada a l'atzar.

It is said that music is the most abstract of the arts and that it has a special ability to reach us in a more direct way and that it can transport us to other places and times. To the music I would add sound in general.

This year I want to share with you music and sounds that are able to transport me, moreover, I invite you to guess which of the following proposals triggered in me an experience of pure happiness that I had never experienced before and that I have only experienced another time in my life, and that one was triggered by a miniature book. Interessant llibre que ha editat en Joan Lliteras on s'hi recullen les històries que el mateix Joan va demanar a amics i coneguts sobre què s'explicava de la guerra civil espanyola a les seves llars. Hi ha testimonis de tot tipus, de dramàtics i de més anecdòtic, però el més rellevant és que malgrat la immensa majoria no la varen viure, a les seves llars encara hi és ben present. Interesting book published by Joan Lliteras which contains the stories that Joan himself asked friends and acquaintances about what was being said about the Spanish Civil War in their homes.
